Seedlings Going Well!
Seedlings on our two carts at the Natural Living Center in Bangor are selling well this year, the last year we’re doing this.
Only tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, plus some pints of petunias and some marigold 4-packs are on those two carts this year.
I know, I said last summer that we were done.
But our designated successor, Alyssa Perez, needed a new well before she could properly set up.
And I had enough left-over tomato, pepper and eggplant seeds to cover the sales demand for them the last few years at NLC. So that’s the deal. We at BrightBerry Farm are doing the nightshades,
Alyssa will have all the herbs, other flowers and all the other veggies (cukes, summer squash, greens, melons, etc.).
BrightBerry Farm has “only” 30 varieties of tomatoes this year (7 fewer than last year), including cherry tomatoes, cocktail-sized, paste, slicers and heirloom varieties. Add to that six varieties of sweet peppers, three of hot peppers (two jalapenos plus Hungarian Hot Wax), and three types of eggplants.
We emptied 19 seed packets in this process, so I am pleased at having those expensive seeds not go to waste.
Only a flat or two of each variety was started, so if you’re partial to a particular variety, check them out before they’re all gone!
